Why Our Refund Policy Says You Usually Keep the Item

Pet fur glove used during a calm grooming routine at home

Buying pet gear online has one awkward problem: the pet does not read the product page.

You can measure carefully, compare photos, read the description twice, and still end up with a dog who refuses to wear the coat or a cat who looks at the brush like it personally insulted them. That does not make you a bad shopper. It means you live with an animal who has opinions.

That is why our refund policy is built to be simple: you have 30 days from delivery to ask for help, and in almost every case you do not need to ship anything back.

Why not ask for everything back?

Because return shipping is often the least useful part of the process.

For many small pet products, asking a customer to box the item, print a label, drive to a carrier, and wait for inspection creates more frustration than value. It can also cost nearly as much as the product itself. Nobody wins. You lose time, we lose trust, and the item takes a weird little tour through the postal system.

If the product is safe and usable, we would rather you keep it, pass it to a friend, or donate it to a local shelter.

What this policy is for

It is for normal human online-shopping problems:

  • The size was wrong.
  • Your dog refused it.
  • Your cat wanted nothing to do with it.
  • The product was not what you pictured.
  • The item arrived damaged or incorrect.
  • You realized it does not solve your specific problem.

Those are real reasons. We do not need a courtroom speech. Email us with your order number and a quick note about what happened.

What we may ask for

If something arrived damaged, incorrect, or confusing, we may ask for a photo or short video. That helps us understand the issue and fix it faster. A photo of the shipping label can also help when tracking or fulfillment is involved.

What we will not ask for: your password, your full card number, payment by gift card, payment by bank transfer, or anything that sounds like an account scam. We only email from support@raisedlikefamily.com.

When we might need the item back

Almost never, but it can happen. If we do need something returned, we will arrange it, pay for it, and send instructions first.

Please do not mail anything to us before contacting support. A parcel we are not expecting can be delayed, refused, misplaced, or impossible to connect back to your order. Start with an email. We will take it from there.

Why this matters for pet parents

Pet gear has more uncertainty than most products. Fit, tolerance, coat type, chewing habits, fear of new objects, and daily routine all matter. A return policy should respect that.

That is also why our product pages include When not to buy this sections. The best refund is the one we avoid by helping you choose more carefully up front.

If your dog panics when paws are handled, we would rather tell you to work on paw-touch training before buying a paw cleaner. If your pet has painful mats, we would rather point you toward a groomer than sell a gentle brush as if it can fix everything. If your dog is outside the coat size range, we would rather lose the sale than create a bad fit.

How to start a refund

Email support@raisedlikefamily.com within 30 days of delivery. Include:

  • Your order number.
  • The product name.
  • A short note about what went wrong.
  • A photo or video if the item arrived damaged, wrong, or defective.

Once approved, refunds go back to the original payment method. Your bank or card provider may take additional time to post it.

The plain version

We are not trying to make returns dramatic. If a product does not fit your pet's life, tell us. We will help. In almost every case, you keep the item and avoid return postage.

Read the official version on our Shipping & Returns page, or email support@raisedlikefamily.com before buying if you are unsure.
